A service that sits in front of websites to make them faster and protect them from attacks and abuse. It also hosts apps and stores files close to users.

General use

Companies use it to speed up their sites, block bad traffic and denial of service attacks, manage domains, and run code at locations near their visitors.

Insight

Cheap and effective as a shield in front of a site, and the core speed and protection features cost nothing for most sites. The newer hosting and storage products are priced well but each has quirks and limits you only find once you build on them. Support is thin unless you pay for a high tier. Best as a front layer for speed and security, with more caution on the newer app-hosting parts.
